In his speech after the awards last night Council Leader Sean Brennan said: "It's been marvellous.

I would like to congratulate all those who have been accredited and those who have gone on to be award winners and runners-up. The standards have been high this year and you have shown you are committed to raising the standards and showing that Sutton borough is a place for a great evening out, and where people can feel safe and secure. What's different about Sutton? I believe it is the warm welcome, care and consideration and courtesy that people receive. We appreciate all your hard work - well done."

Supt Phil Willis added: "Best Bar None provides a focus for us to make our bars, pubs and clubs across the borough safer and better places to enjoy. We had a total of 26 premises which received accreditation and award status. That's a fantastic achievement of which the borough should feel justly proud."
